These are awarded to the Year 6 students who have consistently shown respect and leadership in te reo Māori during Ngā Tūmanako and kapa haka. These students display aroha and passion towards te ao Māori.


This cup is awarded to the student who presents the overall best speech in our annual school speech competition.
Kaitātaki Kōtiro Kapa Haka - Mina Paikea
This piece represents 'Pokopoko the Taniwha' carrying the basket of knowledge for Kapa Haka and Te Reo to Mina Paikea, she is seen surrounded by eager tamariki who want to learn. E iti noa ana na te aroha (a small gift given in love).
Kaitātaki Tama Kapa Haka - Ripeka Harris
This trophy is a mere which is traditionally a weapon. It is a symbol of mana, chieftainship and leadership. It was carved especially for us by Mark Lang of Tika Pono Toi.
